Does Spain still require Covid test to enter?
A negative COVID test will be accepted if it is a PCR, TMA, LAMP, NEAR, or RAT test taken within the required time frame.
There is no requirement to quarantine when arriving to Spain. However, it is recommended that you follow the guidance of the local authorities regarding travel and safety precautions.
What US citizens need to travel to Spain
If you are a US citizen and you want to travel to Spain for tourism or business, you do not need a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay, and you must have sufficient funds and a return airline ticket.
If you are travelling to Spain from a high risk country, you will need to present a certificate that proves you have either been vaccinated against COVID-19, recovered from the virus, or been tested for it.
Do you have to wear masks in Spain?
You should continue to observe the following rules regardless of your whereabouts in Spain: obligatory use of face masks in pharmacies, medical centres and care homes (see Use of facemasks).
If you are eligible for a COVID-19 booster, you should get it as soon as possible. The booster will show up in your NHS COVID Pass within 5 days.

If you’re flying to the United States from another country, you’ll need to present a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from the disease before you’re allowed to board your flight. This requirement applies to all passengers, regardless of vaccination status.
As of 20 April, 2022, it is no longer mandatory to wear a face mask indoors or outdoors in Spain with certain exceptions. You must still wear a face mask: when travelling by plane, train or bus, as well as in all other public transport.
What is 180 day rule in Spain
The Schengen 90/180 rule is a rule that stipulates that non-EEA nationals cannot spend more than a total of 90 days within a total period of 180 days without a visa. This means that if you have used up your quota of 90 days, you cannot return to Schengen until 90 more days have passed.
The Spanish government has announced that the requirement to wear masks on public transport will be lifted from May 9th. This change will not affect health establishments and services, where masks will still be required, nor will it apply to workers and visitors attending health and social care facilities.
Do you still need a Covid pass to travel?
If you’re aged 12 or over you can get a digital NHS COVID Pass for travel abroad. This will allow you to prove that you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and will help you to meet the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to. If you’re aged 5-11 and have received a full primary course of COVID-19 vaccination, you can also get an NHS COVID Pass letter. However, you should still check the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to, as some countries may have different rules for children.
This is good news for anyone flying to the US from another country. You now only need one dose of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight, instead of two doses. A booster dose is not needed. This requirement is currently only for noncitizen nonimmigrants, but may be expanded to other groups in the future. Check with your airline and the CDC website for the most up-to-date information.
What does fully vaccinated mean
Being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 means that a person has received their primary series of vaccines. This usually provides good protection against the virus, but there is always a small chance that someone could still get sick.
This requirement is in addition to the US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) existing requirements for all air passengers to have a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery from the virus before traveling.
