The Canadian government has put in place new travel restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic. All non-essential travel is banned, and Canadians are being urged to stay home. The restrictions are in place until at least April 13th, and may be extended depending on the situation.

Is Canada opening to US travelers?
If you’re planning on traveling to Canada anytime soon, you’ll be happy to know that the rules have reverted back to pre-pandemic times. All you need is a valid passport, passport card, or NEXUS card as proof of citizenship and identification. You can stay for up to 180 days without any issue. Enjoy your trip!

At this time, Canada does not require vaccination for entry into the country. However, other countries may have their own requirements for entry, and may ask that incoming travellers have a booster dose. Be sure to review the entry requirements set by the country you are travelling to before you go.
What are the restrictions entering Canada
As of April 19, 2021, all travellers entering Canada by air, land or marine mode are not required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Pre-board testing is also not required, except for those travellers who are required to take a COVID-19 pre-entry and arrival test. Quarantine after you enter Canada is also not required. However, using ArriveCAN is still recommended.
If you are travelling from a country other than the US, you should be prepared to take an arrival test and quarantine at a suitable place until you receive a negative Day 1 test result.
Is Covid test required to fly from Canada to us?
If you are planning to travel to the United States, you will need to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 2 days before your flight. You can get tested at a local health center or through your doctor. Once you have your negative test result, you will be able to board your flight and enjoy your trip!

Do I need to be fully vaccinated to enter Canada from the US?

What do I need to enter Canada from the US
Children under the age of 16 only need to provide proof of their US citizenship when entering Canada. All other persons must carry proof of their citizenship and identity in the form of a valid passport, passport card, or NEXUS card.
The US territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands all require that visitors present a negative COVID-19 viral test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before being allowed to enter. This is in line with the CDC’s recommendations for air travel to the US.
Do you need to be vaccinated to enter us?
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that non-citizens who are non-immigrants and seeking to enter the United States by air will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States from a foreign country. This requirement will go into effect on May 26, 2021, and will apply to all foreign nationals ages two and older, with certain exceptions. The DHS notes that this requirement is consistent with the CDC’s recent guidance on travel and is a necessary step to protect public health and safety as the United States continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
In light of the outbreak of COVID-19, the Canadian government has put into place a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all persons entering the country. However, there is an exemption for those who are returning to their habitual place of residence after carrying out an everyday function that, due to geographical constraints, necessarily involves entering the United States. This exemption applies to both Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Can you fly unvaccinated in Canada
As of April 19, all Canadian travellers who are symptomatic of COVID-19, regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, will not be allowed to fly. The Canadian COVID-19 proof of vaccination is a reliable way for Canadians to show their COVID-19 vaccination history when they travel.
You no longer need a visitor visa to travel to Canada as of October 1, 2022. All you need is a valid passport. All COVID-19 border requirements, including vaccination, mandatory use of ArriveCAN, and any testing and quarantine/isolation requirements will end for all travellers entering Canada.
Can I drive from US to Canada?
If you are not a US Citizen, then you will need to check with the Canadian Embassy to find out what documents you need in order to be able to enter Canada.
As of January 26, 2021, all non-immigrant, non-US citizens air travelers to the United States are required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States.
