If you’re planning a trip to Hawaii, you should be aware of the travel restrictions that are in place in order to protect the state’s residents and visitors. All travelers must have a valid passport and a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of their flight. In addition, all travelers are required to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival.
There are no formal travel restrictions to Hawaii, however, all visitors are required to have a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

As of June 12, 2022, the US federal government no longer requires a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result or recovery from COVID-19 documentation for arriving domestic passengers. This means that there are no longer any COVID-related requirements for arriving domestic passengers.
Are masks required in Hawaii
Masks are effective at trapping respiratory droplets from your mouth which can contain the COVID-19 virus. Wearing a mask or face covering can help protect others in case you are infected but don’t yet have symptoms. It is important to remember that masks are not a substitute for physical distancing and good hygiene.

Do I still need to wear a mask on a plane?
As of April 18, 2022, the CDC’s January 29, 2021 Order requiring masks on public transportation conveyances and at transportation hubs is no longer in effect. This change is the result of a court order.

Are masks required in Honolulu Airport?
We are now offering our guests and employees the option to wear a face mask while onboard our flights and at most US airports we serve. This is in alignment with TSA’s Security Directive.
Maui County requires individuals to wear face coverings indoors in government buildings. Individuals are not required to wear face coverings outdoors.
Which airlines do not require masks
It is not required to wear a mask on the following US airlines: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines.

Can you take alcohol to Hawaii
The note explains that hairspray and insect repellent are allowed on the plane, but alcohol over 24% by volume is not. Each guest is allowed to bring up to 5 liters of alcohol in checked luggage, but the containers must be the original retail packaging and no larger than 5 liters. Note: beverages over 70% alcohol by volume are not accepted.

The new travel rules will take effect at 12:01 am on March 26, 2022. Passengers arriving from domestic points of origin will not have to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a pre-travel negative test result. Incoming passengers will also no longer be required to create a Safe Travels account or provide travelers information and trip details. These changes will help incoming passengers move through the airport more quickly and easily.
As of March 26, you no longer need to quarantine, take a COVID-19 pre-travel test, or show proof of vaccination when traveling.

As of October 15, 2020, travelers from the contiguous U.S. states and Japan are able to bypass the state’s mandatory 14-day quarantine by providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their departure flight. Travelers from all other countries are still subject to the 14-day quarantine.
The travel restrictions to Hawaii vary depending on which state you are coming from. If you are coming from a state that is part of the US mainland, you will need to have a valid passport. If you are coming from another country, you will need to have a valid visa.
